Don’t worry if a song is stuck in your brain but you can’t recall the title, band name, or lyrics. YouTube Music can assist you.
A new Shazam-like function in the YouTube Music app for Android allows you to search for a song on YouTube Music by humming (or poorly singing) it into your phone. The hum-to-search function is comparable to the one that has been included into Google Assistant and the Google app since 2020.
To get YouTube Music to detect your humming, follow these steps. To learn more, check out 2024’s top music streaming service.
How to detect a song by humming it for YouTube Music
You must upgrade to the most recent version of Android YouTube Music, which is 7.02.51, in order to test out the new functionality. On your Android smartphone, you may upgrade straight from the Play Store.
Navigate to the Home page of the YouTube Music app, press the magnifying glass search button in the top right corner, and then tap the audio wave symbol. You will be prompted by YouTube Music to play, sing, or hum the music you are looking for.

But it was harder for me to get Death Grips’ “Get Got” (experimental hip-hop) and Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave” (metal) to work.

All things considered, it works best with more well-known songs that are catchy and relatively straightforward; avoid trying anything more complicated, such as melodic hardcore, technical death metal, or avant-garde jazz.
