More than a month after releasing iOS 18.2, Apple launched iOS 18.3 on January 27. The most recent version concentrates on patching features and fixing flaws, such as in Apple Intelligence notification summaries, whereas the previous update included new Apple Intelligence capabilities, such as Genmoji and Image Playground, to certain iPhones. Important security upgrades for all iPhones are also included in the update.

By selecting Settings > General > Software Update, selecting Update Now, and then following the on-screen instructions, you may download the update.

Updates for Visual Intelligence

Users of any iPhone 16 model can update to Visual Intelligence with iOS 18.3. You may now use the ability to add an event from a flyer or poster to your calendar. In this manner, you may avoid manually entering the event.

Updates to the AI notification summary
Some changes are made to Apple Intelligence notification summaries in the iOS 18.3 update. This feature, which is typically enabled by default, allows certain apps to display notification summaries on your lock screen. However, the BBC claims that a headline in the article was misreported.

The News app no longer supports this feature after the upgrade, and the Summarize Notifications menu in Settings now states, “Summaries may contain errors.” Applications’ notification summaries are momentarily disabled.

In order to differentiate AI notification summaries from other notifications, the update also italicizes them on your lock screen. By gently swiping left on the notification, selecting Options, and then selecting Turn Off Summaries, you can also disable AI notification summaries for certain apps from your Lock Screen.

Black Unity wallpapers for 2025
iOS 18.3 comes with three new Unity wallpapers.
This year is no exception to Apple’s annual distribution of Black Unity wallpapers in honor of Black History Month. In the context of iOS

18.3 These new wallpapers are available to everyone and, according to Apple, are based on the “rhythm of humanity.” The new collection features six wallpapers that all say “Unity” in the red, green, and black hues of the Pan-African flag.

By selecting Settings > Wallpaper > Add New Wallpaper and navigating to the Unity area, you can locate these wallpapers.

Calculator operations repeated
With iOS 18.3, anyone can repeat operations in the Calculator app without having to reenter the equation. This is nothing new, but when Apple launched iOS 18 in September, they took this feature out of Calculator.

Instead of reentering an equation, you may now continue to double anything, for instance, by simply tapping the equal sign several times.
